What began as a provider of glass and mirrors to local glaziers and retail glass shops has become one of the most complete glass companies in the U.S.   Position Overview To meet our customer’s demand for superior service and delivery, we are seeking a 2 nd Shift Production Manager for our PM shift who can assume the management role of developing and leading our production teams. You will be responsible for developing efficient work methods, and collaborating with our Team Members to increase productivity while maintaining our strong safety record. Execute the daily supplied production schedules, oversee the production processes, ensure the schedule is being followed, and review & adjust the schedule where needed. Determine the material resources needed to complete the schedule. Manage resources daily to ensure targets are being met. Implement new standard operating procedures for production operations and ensure they are adhered to as well as current operating procedures. Ensure all safety procedures are being adhered to. Set and monitor product quality standards and expectations. Work with teams to drive quality control, while detecting and correcting problems. Work with teams to determine and implement improvements to the production process. Prepare and maintain production reports (ex. Daily production, rejects, monthly metrics, etc.) Identify and create training schedules where needed. Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including Sales, Engineering, Scheduling, FAB production, IG production, and Shipping. Input work schedules in the time clock and verify punches on a daily basis   Qualifications Demonstrated success in growing and developing a team of operators to meet production requirements Must be open to working PM shift starting at 4pm. Fundamental understanding of production rates, movement of product through a multi-process manufacturing environment, and the need to keep on top of manufacturing schedules. Prefer glass experience IN FABRICATION which can include Cutting, Tempering, Insulating, Laminating, and/or Decorative. You will be responsible for ensuring that all shipping goals & schedules are completed on-time. This can only be accomplished by properly training, developing, and leading your shipping team members. Verify that all Loaders are filling out route notes and keeping accurate information on what orders will not be shipped. Supervise the Inventory Unloaders to ensure safe operation of cranes, proper placement of inventory, and working efficiently in the warehouse. Previous supervisory or management experience within Shipping & Receiving in a Manufacturing, Logistics, and/or Warehouse setting. Drawings to be primarily completed using 2D AutoCAD. Create parts drawings in G&MC drawing style for newly implemented systems to use in current drawings and to improve efficiency of future drawings. Collaborate with Project Management and the Engineering Manager to ensure timely and accurate release of submittals and drawings for production of glass and hardware fabrication. Review engineered drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Develop knowledge of the company’s fabrication capabilities and work with project managers while designing and drawing to ensure that the drawings convey the correct fabrication information are error free. Work through red lines with project managers Assist project managers and other team members as well as other departments as required, directed or assigned.   Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, and/or Design is required Be able to multi-task and perform in a very fast paced environment while maintaining extreme accuracy and organization. Have strong computer skills, particularly AutoCAD Strong Problem Solving 2-4 years of professional experience in the architectural / construction field preferred.
