Design and coordinate the building of tools and fixtures and oversees their implementation into production; provides advice on feasibility, cost and practicality of designs.

Supports PSW and Prototype builds with Design engineers and Program managers
Develop mechanical drawings using AutoCAD 2D & 3D modeling with basic tool making methods
Responsible for process FMEA and keeps current with product changes.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans and changeover Job Instructions for tooling
Coordinate program timing with Program Manager, AME and AQE’s
Coordinate engineering changes and establish production feasibility of designs working with tooling subcontractors and Manufacturing Engineering
Conduct design reviews internally and with customers and vendors, and act as liaison between design engineering, program management, quality department, purchasing department and tooling subcontractors

Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years Tool Design experience or Journeyman’s Tool and Die Makers Certificate with 6 years equivalent related experience
Ability to evaluate and negotiate price quotes and cost changes to purchase orders
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communicational skills required
Knowledge of 8D, DOE, GD&T, ECM, CAD, TPM, DFMEA, and PFMEA
