Position Overview

To meet our customer’s demand for superior service and delivery, we are seeking an experienced CAD Designer/Drafter who can transform conceptual as well as architectural designs into fabrication ready drawing packages using Computer Aided Design (CAD). Description of the work:

  • Generate comprehensive detailed drawing packages using documents and information provided from the Project Management and Estimating Staff, including: architectural prints, sales quotes, purchase orders, and conceptual sketches. Drawings to be primarily completed using 2D AutoCAD.
  • Create parts drawings in G&MC drawing style for newly implemented systems to use in current drawings and to improve efficiency of future drawings.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and the Engineering Manager to ensure timely and accurate release of submittals and drawings for production of glass and hardware fabrication.
  • Review engineered drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • Develop knowledge of the company’s fabrication capabilities and work with project managers while designing and drawing to ensure that the drawings convey the correct fabrication information are error free.
  • Work through red lines with project managers
  • Assist project managers and other team members as well as other departments as required, directed or assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, and/or Design is required
  • Be able to multi-task and perform in a very fast paced environment while maintaining extreme accuracy and organization.
  • Have strong computer skills, particularly AutoCAD
  • Strong Problem Solving
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in the architectural / construction field preferred.
