Position Overview

To meet our customer’s demand for superior service and delivery, we are seeking an experienced Midnight Shift Shipping Supervisor who can assume the management role of developing and leading our Midnight shift Load & Unload teams. You will be responsible for ensuring that all shipping goals & schedules are completed on-time. This can only be accomplished by properly training, developing, and leading your shipping team members. Description of the work:

  • Grow, develop, and train your Shipping department Team Members into top notch Loaders & Unloaders and that see you as a resource for their success.
  • Review all Operational related emails to ensure you have accurate reports for your department.
  • Discuss safety and the importance of crane inspections & audits at every shift.
  • Implement new standard operating procedures for Shipping department and ensure they are adhered to as well as current operating procedures.
  • Review & discuss Loaders notes and plans before every shift ensuring that timelines are being met.
  • Set and monitor product quality standards and expectations, involving button placement, banding, proper sequence of glass in racks, verifying size of glass, and securing glass on delivery trucks.
  • Consistent communication with PM Production Supervisor to review any missing and/or incomplete orders.
  • Document and pull all orders not being shipped and prepare driver’s paperwork.
  • Verify that all Loaders are filling out route notes and keeping accurate information on what orders will not be shipped.
  • Supervise the Inventory Unloaders to ensure safe operation of cranes, proper placement of inventory, and working efficiently in the warehouse.
  • Input work schedules in the time clock system and verify punches on a daily basis.

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in growing and developing team members.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience within Shipping & Receiving in a Manufacturing, Logistics, and/or Warehouse setting.
  • Fundamental understanding of the movement of product through a multi-process manufacturing environment, and the need to keep on top of daily schedules.
  • Must have a progressive manufacturing background.
